THE CAMPAIGN

The photographers Morelli Brothers capture a shared moment between The Only One, actress Emilia Clarke, and her loved ones in a timeless black and white shot in an authentic trattoria in Rome.

For the video campaign, Italian director Matteo Garrone renewed his collaboration with actress Emilia Clarke. Set in a traditional trattoria in Rome, the film opens with Emilia surrounded by her friends. Encouraged by them, Emilia starts to sing the classic Italian song “Quando, Quando, Quando”, alongside a group of local musicians. Cheered on by the crowd, her natural aura and intense femininity draws the fascination of all around her.

THE FRAGRANCE

The Only One Eau de Parfum Intense builds on the floriental legacy of The Only One line with a captivating new scent. Like the woman it represents, the fragrance is an intricate combination of intense and solar sensuality. Alluringly feminine and irresistibly seductive, its signature lies in the surprising combination of dazzling gold orange blossom contrasted with hypnotizing black vanilla.

Maintaining the graphic architectural form of The Only One, the bottle is now reinvented in black, the iconic colour of Dolce&Gabbana, which reflects the hypnotic intensity of the fragrance within. The gold ring detail evokes the radiant elegance of The Only One woman, while the sinuous cursive script conjures her seductive silhouette.

Top notes of sparkling Italian mandarin, crisp green apple accord and golden neroli essence illuminate the radiant floral heart of the fragrance.

HEART NOTES
Dazzling gold orange blossom mingles with the heady sensuality of jasmine absolute, and are softly enveloped by creamy, lush coconut essence, which lends a warm and sunny aura to the scent.

BASE NOTES
Smooth, sweet notes of dark vanilla in the base amplify its addictive quality, underpinned by grounding cedar and cashmere woods.

Effortlessly charming, and not afraid to show his vitality, he remains true to his roots, respecting tradition while embracing modernity.

THE FRAGRANCE

K by Dolce&Gabbana embodies this charismatic and generous spirit.
It is a fragrance that inspires and captivates, blazing a trail of lingering masculine seduction. Instantly conjuring the Italian countryside and the Mediterranean midday sun, its warm enveloping embrace evokes the fresh earthy scent of wooded Tuscan hills.

The sublime and majestic scent boldly creates a vibrant crescendo of citruses, ignited by fiery aromatics and underpinned by sophisticated and sensual woods.

This scent was a collaboration between two renowned perfumers – Daphné Bugey and Nathalie Lorson – each bringing their own quality to the finished fragrance.

THE INGREDIENTS

The fragrance opens with zesty citruses that invigorate the senses: an energetic fusion of sparkling blood orange and pressed Sicilian lemon. Their effervescence is tinged with the fresh bite of juniper berry and warmed by amber accents of calming clary sage, blended with crisp geranium and restorative lavandin.These notes are ignited by an arresting spark of spicy pimento essence, an ingredient seldom used in perfumery, which adds a touch of heat, kindling the heart of the fragrance and amplifying its masculine energy. The scent then unfolds to a base of warm woods, sensual cedarwood merging with earthy vetiver, before yielding to the sweet spiciness of patchouli. Magnetic and unmistakably masculine, the scent both reflects and intensifies the innate charisma of a modern day king.

THE PACKAGING

Many years in the making, the flacon fuses tradition and modernity. The chiseled geometric bottle is offset by the crown of intricate artistry which tops it. Each handcrafted cap is unique, the crown overlaid with particles of 24-carat gold and then individually aged to a distinct patina.

This modern day crown is encircled with blue stone-like orbs, set beneath a blue lapis dome – each also unique, resulting from a process that recreates the natural marbling of the stone. On the bottle itself, the crowned letter K evokes the traditional symbol of royalty, but with a bold simplicity that is strikingly contemporary. Strong, confident, and meticulously put-together, the K by Dolce&Gabbana bottle mirrors the character of the fragrance within, perfectly capturing the spirit of modern masculinity.

THE ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN

For the launch of this new pillar, Dolce&Gabbana Beauty has partnered with Italian influencer Mariano di Vaio. Husband, father and entrepreneur, Mariano is the king of his everyday life and an indisputable choice to embody the new masculine fragrance.

To capture the essence of K by Dolce&Gabbana, the photographer Mariano Vivanco chose to set the story in the heart of Italy, in the picturesque village of Montepulciano and the perfect vineyards that slope up to its medieval walls.

In the spot, a man with his motorbike is roaring down a sun-drenched avenue lined with cypress trees. He arrives through the ancient gates and cobbled streets to the modern vibrancy of everyday life – to the laughter and embrace of his family, and the companionship of his friends. He is a king of everyday life, he owns his crown.
The soundtrack, by world-famous composer and Oscar winner Ennio Morricone, empowers the modern time hero as he wanders around the historic city.

Legend has it that Capri was founded by Koloneus, a handsome man descended from the Gods, Vulcan and Venus. He was sent to Capri to express his love, dedicating a sea stack to each of the women he treasured…
According to history, Capri was a Greek colony when it was “discovered” by the Emperor Augusts, on his way back from a journey to the the Orient in 29BC.
Falling in love with it, he brought it under the rule of Rome, marking it as a destination for the privileged to relax and nest. But it was his successor Tiberius who, after settling on the island for over ten years, established it as a place of grandeur.

A very old story which continues to fascinate with its wonders

THE FARAGLIONI | FROM CAPRI WITH LOVE

Capri’s coastline is home to the towering Faraglioni, the rocks which rise majestically from the sea and one of the most iconic symbols of the island. These unique natural structures (coastal and oceanic rock formations eroded by waves) have each been given a name: the first, still attached to the land, is called Stella, the second, separated from the first block by a stretch of sea; Faraglione di Mezzo and the third, Faraglione di Fuori or Scopolo, meaning the head or promontory stretching into the sea. The Faraglione di Mezzo is characterized by a central cavity, large enough to allow for the passage of a small boat. 

These three formations have become so iconic that they instantly remind anyone of Capri.
They are also the protagonists of the unforgettable Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue campaigns, featuring David Gandy and Bianca Balti shot by Mario Testino.

Take a stroll along the sloping cliffs of Capri and admire the sea view, as you spot the famous Faraglioni in the distance. Your gaze drifts towards the Arch or Love, the natural opening in the rocks where girls sigh; longing the be kissed by the boy they love. Rumour has it that kissing here brings good luck.
